Dementia Friendly Community Initiative comes to ACK
Nantucket is on the road to becoming one of the first dementia friendly communities in the country!
The Nantucket Council on Aging has launched is launching this initiative. Check out these 3 free public events on Tuesday, May 1st:
1) First Responder Training, "Understand, Approach & Respond: Effective Interventions with Individuals with Alzheimer's disease and related dementias" from 8-11 am at the Nantucket Police Department.
2) Dementia & Your Community, A Training for Community Professionals: 12:00-1:30 pm at the Nantucket Atheneum.
3)Know the 10 Signs- to learn about early detection and why it's important. 2:00-2:30 pm at the Nantucket Atheneum.
